Burak Yilmaz brace for Beijing Guoan takes them above Shanghai Shenhua

Burak Yilmaz netted twice as Beijing Guoan notched up a 2-1 win over Yanbian Funde that saw Jose Gonzalez's team move ahead of Shanghai Shenhua in the Chinese Super League standings on Saturday evening.

Yilmaz gave his side the lead 28 minutes into the game before Bubacarr Trawally levelled for Yanbian just four minutes later, only for the Turkish striker to seal all three points eight minutes into the second half.

The win takes Beijing into to sixth place on 16 points, two clear of Shenhua, who were held to a 0-0 draw Henan Jianye.

"My mood is very similar to when we won against Liaoning," said Gonzalez, whose team lost their previous game against Hebei CFFC. "We have gained three points. On top of the win, what matters more is we learned how to recover and stand up again after a defeat.

"Our first half was not bad, but in the second half we invested too much in our defence, consequently we were not very smooth in attack. We need to review and improve ourselves."

Liaoning Whowin had goals from Anthony Ujah and James Chamanga -- from the penalty spot -- to thank for their 2-1 win over Chongqing Lifan while Nikica Jelavic scored twice for Gregorio Manzano's Guizhou Zhicheng as they handed Tianjin Quanjian a 2-1 loss despite Alexandre Pato's 80th minute goal

League leaders Guangzhou Evergrande take on Changchun Yatai on Sunday while Shanghai SIPG travel to meet Tianjin Teda. Jiangsu Suning, meanwhile, face off against Shandong Luneng.
