Hulk scores goal, leaves game injured in Shanghai SIPG debut

Brazil international forward Hulk was taken off with an injury in his first game with new club Shanghai SIPG on Sunday.

The former Zenit St. Petersburg star was stretchered off with an apparent left knee injury on 12 minutes shortly after opening the scoring against Henan Jianye in an eventual 5-0 victory for the Chinese side.

The 29-year-old was seen with a ice pack on his injured leg.

Shanghai SIPG made world headlines at the end of last month after paying €56 million for the ex-Porto man.

Hulk is reported to have agreed an annual salary of €12.5m before bonuses, which would make him the CSL's best-paid player.
