Carlos Tevez strikes in Shanghai Shenhua win; Guangzhou R&F victorious

Carlos Tevez scored his first goal since March as Shanghai Shenhua handed the Chinese Super League's last placed side Yanbian Funde a 2-0 loss to temporarily take the pressure off coach Gustavo Poyet.

The win was Shenhua's first in the league since early April and moves Poyet's team up to eighth in the standings.

BEIJING -- China will effectively double the cost for its clubs to buy foreign players in a move aimed at slowing the influx of overseas stars and encouraging homegrown talent.

China's Football Association announced on Thursday that any club that pays more than 45 million renminbi (€5.9m, £5.2m) for a player transfer must pay the same amount to a CFA youth development fund. The tax will be in place until the end of the Chinese league's summer transfer window on July 14.
