Chile's Claudio Bravo hurt in draw at Colombia in World Cup qualifying

Chile goalkeeper Claudio Bravo left Thursday's World Cup qualifier game with a hip injury in a goalless draw at Colombia.

The Manchester City keeper was forced to depart in the 64th minute and was replaced by Johnny Herrera.

He took an early knock after contact with Colombia's Miguel Borja, then collided with Santiago Arias in the second half and could not continue.

Bravo declined to speculate on whether he would be able to play against Uruguay on Tuesday, telling Fox Sports: "At this time, it bothers me a lot. But we have to be smart and realize we have another match on Tuesday.

"We also trust our teammates -- Johnny Herrera went in and did a good job."

Charles Aranguiz also had to leave the game 10 minutes later for La Roja, who were already without Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez, and Bayern Munich star Arturo Vidal was stretchered off the pitch in the 89th minute.

Vidal told local media after the game that his injury would not limit him against Uruguay.

"Claudio was a blow to the hip," coach Juan Antonio Pizzi told a news conference.

"Arturo has a problem from the match against Peru, but he forgets it and gives everything."

Bravo had played well earlier the game, denying both Borja and Oscar Murillo with fine saves.

Colombia forward James Rodriguez was largely ineffective on Thursday, while Radamel Falcao could not spark his team to life in his first international appearance in nearly a year.

The result kept Chile fifth in CONMEBOL table through 11 of 18 games ahead of the other games to follow on Thursday, with only the top four assured of places at the 2018 World Cup.

Colombia are one point ahead in third place after a second draw against Chile in the round-robin.
