Midfielder N'Golo Kante voted Chelsea Players' Player of the Year

LONDON -- N'Golo Kante has been voted Chelsea Players' Player of the Year at the club's end-of-season awards dinner, while Eden Hazard was named the Fans' Player of the Year.

The 26-year-old, who scooped the PFA Player of the Year, FWA Footballer of the Year and Premier League Player of the Season awards earlier this month for his role in powering Chelsea to the title in his first season at Stamford Bridge, has now won a quadruple of coveted individual honours.

Hazard's stunning solo effort against Arsenal at Stamford Bridge in February won the club's Goal of the Season award at the ceremony, held at Battersea Evolution on Sunday and hosted by presenter Jeremy Vine and comedian Omid Djalili, both Chelsea supporters.

It is the second year running that Hazard has scored Chelsea's goal of the season, after his dramatic equaliser to shatter Tottenham's Premier League title hopes triumphed in 2016.

Hazard was presented with his award by former Blues midfielder Michael Ballack.

Later in the night, the Belgium international also won the Fans' Player of the Year award. John Terry and Steve Holland were also given special recognition awards.

Also present at the ceremony was the Premier League trophy, which Chelsea claimed with a record 30 wins from 38 matches as well as the second-highest points total (93) in competition history.

The evening doubled as the 20th anniversary of Chelsea's 1997 FA Cup triumph, with Steve Clarke, Frank Lebeouf, Scott Minto and Eddie Newton the members of that team in attendance.

Chelsea also planned to hold a victory parade in West London on Sunday, but cancelled the public celebration in the wake of the Manchester bomb attack after consultation with local authorities and security forces.
