Arsenal forward Alex Iwobi has revealed that he voted for N'Golo Kante as the PFA Player of the Year, and acknowledged that he'd love to have the Chelsea man as a teammate.

Kante saw off Harry Kane, Romelu Lukaku, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Alexis Sanchez and Eden Hazard to clinch the prestigious award last week, and the former Leicester City man appears on course to win a second consecutive Premier League title this term.

Speaking to Arsenal Player [as per the club's official website], Iwobi has revealed that he cast his vote for the 26-year-old and explained the reasons why he'd love to play alongside his FA Cup final rival.

"He's someone that works for the team and even though he's a Chelsea player, you have to respect what he does," Iwobi began. "He works for the team and just runs non-stop -- he's got something every player would like to have.

"Every player would like to have him in their team," the Nigeria international continued. "The engine, the energy he brings, the enthusiasm -- he is my player of the season."

Despite a season of consistent excellence for the Foxes last term, Kante was overlooked for the PFA award after voters opted for Riyad Mahrez, but this year his fellow professionals have backed the Frenchman as he closes in on becoming the first player to win the Premier League in successive seasons with different clubs.

Admirer Iwobi will get the opportunity to witness Kante's excellence up close next month when Arsenal and Chelsea clash in the FA Cup final at Wembley on May 27.

Kante's Blues reached the showpiece after ousting capital neighbours Tottenham Hotspur 4-2 on Saturday, while Iwobi was an unused substitute as Arsene Wenger's Gunners saw off Manchester City in extra time on Sunday.
