LONDON -- Antonio Conte says he has received no offer to become Inter's next manager and insists he is fully focused on "building something important for the present and the future" at Chelsea.
Reports in Italy this week claimed that Inter had made a lucrative approach for Conte, who has overseen a spectacular revival in Chelsea's fortunes since taking over as head coach in July and is targeting a Premier League and FA Cup double in his first season in England.
There were also suggestions that Conte is feeling homesick and missing his wife and daughter, who visit London regularly but have remained in Italy. But in a news conference on Friday, the Italian brushed off the speculation and confirmed that he is working to bring his family to England permanently this summer.
Asked if he had received an offer from Inter, Conte replied: "For me personally? No.
"My situation is very clear -- I have a contract with Chelsea. We are trying to build something important with the club, for the present and for the future. I think the situation is very clear.
"The only problem for me this season was the family missing me. My family stayed in Italy. I'm working, and working for the future to try and bring them here and [for us] to stay together. My family is missing me, this is the truth."
Conte's future has also been the subject of contrasting speculation in England, with several reports claiming that the Italian is in advanced talks with Chelsea to extend his current contract, which runs until June 2019.
"Every coach, when you start working at a new club, you hope to stay many, many years because it means you are working very well," Conte added. "You have the possibility to improve your players, to improve your team, and to grow together.
"I think this season we are doing this. We are putting a great foundation down for the present and, above all, for the future. In this moment, it's a transition at Chelsea, a season where a lot of players who won a lot here [in the past] have changed teams.
"As you know, especially with things fresh from Ranieri [getting sacked by Leicester City]... you have to be ready for anything. But if you ask my opinion, I hope to stay and work a lot for this club, to win a lot with this club."
