Chelsea to face CSKA Moscow in Russia for preseason - source

LONDON -- Chelsea are set to wrap up their preseason schedule with a trip to Russia to face CSKA Moscow in early-August, a source has confirmed to ESPN FC.

The fixture, arranged to mark the opening of CSKA's new 30,000-seater stadium, has yet to be officially confirmed by either club, but is expected to take place on the weekend before the new Premier League season begins on Aug. 13.

Antonio Conte will begin his new role as Chelsea's first-team head coach at the conclusion of Italy's Euro 2016 campaign, and the majority of the Blues squad will assemble at Cobham for the start of preseason training on July 11 -- one day after the tournament's final.

Chelsea have already confirmed a week-long training camp in the market town of Velden in southern Austria from July 16, featuring friendly matches against Rapid Vienna and WAC RZ Pellets, before heading to the United States to participate in the International Champions Cup.

There the Blues will face Liverpool in Pasadena on July 27, followed by matches against Real Madrid in Michigan on July 30 and AC Milan in Minneapolis on Aug. 3.

The fixtures for the 2016-17 Premier League season are scheduled to be announced on June 15.
