Chelsea consider ending Radamel Falcao loan deal - sources

Chelsea are considering cancelling Radamel Falcao's loan spell in January to free up space in their squad for a new striker, sources have told ESPN FC.

ESPN FC revealed earlier this week that Chelsea were planning to bolster their attacking options when the transfer window reopens in January and had targeted a number of striker's including Bayer Leverkusen's Javier Hernandez and Valencia's Paco Alcacer.

Falcao, who joined Chelsea on a season-long loan from Monaco in the summer, has struggled to establish himself as a regular in Jose Mourinho's plans.

The Colombian has started just one Premier League game this season -- the 3-1 home defeat to Southampton -- and his only other start came in the Capital One Cup win at Walsall.

Falcao, who spent last season on loan at Manchester United, has scored only one goal for Chelsea and the Blues are ready to cut their losses on the former Atletico Madrid forward.

However, any move to end Falcao's loan is set to be complicated as Chelsea and Monaco would both to have to agree to terminate the loan deal and then for any other interested party to take over his wages.

Falcao is believed to be open to the idea of leaving Chelsea as he wants to be playing regularly after a difficult spell on loan at Manchester United last season where he was unable to make an impact resulting in United opting against making his loan stay permanent.
