Jose Mourinho silent on John Terry red card, praises Chelsea display

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho avoided questions about John Terry's red card and instead chose to hail his side for what he thought was a fantastic performance as they beat West Brom 3-2.

Terry, 34, started for Chelsea at The Hawthorns after being substituted at half-time of his team's 3-0 loss at Manchester City last week, but the defender was dismissed in the second half on Sunday.

The centre-back was handed his marching orders by referee Mark Clattenburg after pulling back West Brom debutant Salomon Rondon.

"I prefer not to think. I prefer to do what I'm doing or trying to do since the beginning of the championship which is to focus on the game," the Portuguese said when asked about his captain's sending-off.

"[It was a] fantastic performance. When we had the ball we were always dangerous and the three goals are short for the chances that we created for the football we played.

"After that with 10 men, the spirit and the fight in the defensive areas was very tough. More than happy."

Fabregas said all that mattered to Chelsea ahead of kickoff was recording their first victory of the Premier League campaign.

Before the win over the Baggies, the Blues were held to a 2-2 draw by Swansea and lost heavily against City.

"One hundred percent today was about winning, about getting the points and getting back on track," the Spain international said.

"We made it in difficult circumstances. It looks [like] every time that we had a comfortable game and were dominating that something happens lately. We bounced back in a difficult situation.

"We work hard and we have to keep going, and before the international break we want six points."
