Didier Drogba to play last game for Chelsea ahead of move

Didier Drogba has announced Sunday's match against Sunderland will be his last game as a Chelsea player.

Drogba, 37, re-signed for Chelsea last summer, after leaving the club in 2012 following a successful eight years at Stamford Bridge.

The Ivorian has made 27 Premier League appearances this season, seven of which have been starts, scoring four times to help the Blues clinch the title.

Drogba told the club's official website: "I want to play for at least one more season and in order to play more football I feel I need to go to another club.

"All the fans know my love for Chelsea and I hope to be back here in the future in another role."

Drogba has won four Premier League titles with Chelsea, three League Cup trophies, four FA Cups and the Champions League.

The striker was voted Chelsea's greatest-ever player by the club's supporters in 2012.

Chelsea added in a statement: "Everyone at Chelsea Football Club would like to thank Didier for his fantastic service and he is always welcome back to Stamford Bridge."
