Jose Mourinho wants his Chelsea players to be addicted to winning

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho believes his players will be inspired to win again and again once they get a taste for being Premier League champions.

Mourinho's runaway league leaders will secure the Premier League title if they beat Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge on Sunday and the Chelsea boss suspects his players will get addicted to the winning feeling.

"When the big players have a taste of success, they want more and more," Mourinho told Sunday newspaper reporters.

"Some people are happy with just one victory, but the big ones never get tired of winning. Sir Alex Ferguson and Paolo Maldini, all these big people as players and managers. It's from day one until their last day in the game. They want to win, so I hope these people in my team enjoy this taste.

"It means a lot to me and a lot to the kids here because for many of them it will be the first title. They are people that don't know what is to be to be champions, so I want a lot this one. I think, in the moment we clinch the title I will be much more happy for them than for myself."

Mourinho said this title triumph will be just as satisfying as his first at Chelsea a decade ago, as this triumph is within reach even though he no longer has the huge financial muscle that he benefitted from in his first spell as the club's manager.

"We are not just 'the rich club' anymore," he continued. "We are a top club, but a club that lives with the work every one does, with the money the club generates. So it means a lot to win with these conditions and not just because we are the club with the money.

"This is a great feeling because it's my club, because of the league, what it means. If somebody can speak about the winning league titles in different countries, it's myself. I think it is really special [to win in England] because it's really difficult to win here."

Mourinho went on to suggest his team may struggle to dominate English soccer for years to come despite their commanding Premier League title win this season, he as he set his side a realistic target for the next decade.

"It's difficult to win once. It's more difficult to win a second time in a row," he continued. "To finish first and second and first and second and to be there in the top I think is fantastic.

"If you ask Man City if they want to win alternate, they will be more than happy. If you tell them in the next 10 years they win five, every supporter in a Premier League club would be more than happy."
