Cesar Azpilicueta signs new Chelsea contract

Cesar Azpilicueta has signed a new five-year contract at Chelsea.

- Costa pleased with Chelsea start
- Worrall: Mourinho defensive concerns are warranted

The Spain international, who signed from Marseille in 2012, has proved himself an important player under Jose Mourinho.

He became established as the club's first-choice left-back last season despite competition from Ashley Cole and has remained in the side despite the summer signing of Filipe Luis from Atletico Madrid.

He has made 95 appearances to date for the Blues and won the Players' Player of the Year award last season.

Information from the Press Association was used in this report.
