Former Barcelona star Ronaldinho still keen on helping Chapecoense

Two-time world player of the Year Ronaldinho is still keen on helping Chapecoense following the plane crash that devastated the team last week.

Chapecoense were on their way to play in the Copa Sudamericana final against Atletico Nacional when the plane they were in crashed in Cerro Gordo, La Union in Colombia, killing 71 people onboard.

With the club shorn of players, football legends from all over the world including Argentina's Juan Roman Riquelme and Eidur Gudjohnsen have offered their services to the club.

While the club continues to rebuild swiftly in these conditions, Ronaldinho's brother and agent Roberto Assis confirmed the playmaker's desire to help in any way possible.

"About Chapecoense, I think we should treat this issue with the greates respect for the families and the club," Assis told Goal.com.

"We are ready to help in some way, I do not know how.

"Just like the Brazilian people and the whole world, we are still very much sad. We had a relationship with many people on that flight, I feel very sad and I hope that peace and serenity will help these families to pass this difficult time."

In another move of support, South American football's governing body, CONMEBOL, have declared Chapecoense as winners of the Copa Sudamericana, and the club will receive "all the sporting and economic prerogatives that this entails."
