Celtic's Rodgers hails 'highly gifted' Ntcham as run extends to 69 games

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers hailed Olivier Ntcham for his Man of the Match performance and goal in the 3-1 Scottish Premiership win over Hamilton on Wednesday.

France under-21 midfielder Ntcham opened the scoring with a spectacular volley in the 12th minute to take his goal tally to five since joining from Manchester City in the summer.

The result stretched Celtic's unbeaten domestic record to 69 games and kept them five points clear of Rangers and Aberdeen at the top of the table with a game in hand.

Rodgers, who praised the fans who braved the elements on a freezing night, said: "I think he's developing very, very well, as I would expect.

"He's a highly gifted player, the first goal is wonderful technique after great play by Callum McGregor and Scott Sinclair, and it's a brilliant finish.

"He's got really good technique, good pace, good awareness and it's just about him getting used to the number of games.

"Now he's getting that consistency and adapting to everything since he's moved to here and you see his quality last night was very good. He's developing very well."
