Paul Trollope sacked as Cardiff City manager

Cardiff City have parted company with manager Paul Trollope following a start to the season that has seen the Bluebirds beaten seven times in their opening 11 games.

A statement on the club's official website also confirmed assistant coach Lennie Lawrence and performance director Ryland Morgans had left the club.

Trollope was appointed to succeed Russell Slade in May this year after previously working on the club's coaching staff.

At the time of his appointment he spoke of targeting the Championship playoffs and promotion to the Premier League but leaves Cardiff with the club 23rd after winning only twice this season.

Reports suggest former Crystal Palace and Leeds United manager Neil Warnock is among the contenders to take over.
