Isaac Muleme tips Allan Kateregga to enthral Cape Town City fans

Uganda left-back Isaac Muleme believes that Cape Town City fans will enjoy watching new boy Allan Kateregga in action after the attacker completed his move on Tuesday.

The PSL high fliers completed a move to bring the left winger to the Cape Town Stadium earlier this week, signing him from Ugandan giants KCCA FC, where he had been on loan from AFC Leopards.

CTCFC boss John Comitis has already spoken glowingly about the Blue and Gold Army's latest acquisition, and Muleme is confident that - with hard work - his international colleague will be a hit in the South African top flight.

"Cape Town City fans will enjoy his style of play because he's good at dribbling and he's physical," Muleme told KweséESPN. "They'll enjoy his type of play, but he has to acclimatise.

"He has to prepare himself so that he can show the fans the best of himself."

Dreadlocked wideman Kateregga has the potential to be a valuable addition for Cape Town City as they look to push league leaders Mamelodi Sundown in the PSL and prepare for their maiden CAF Confederation Cup campaign.

"It's a good move for him, because he's tried his level best to work hard and he's achieved what he wanted to achieve," Muleme continued. "Everyone wants to achieve, to become a professional player, and not just to be the best in his own country, but outside his own country."

Comitis revealed that CTCFC coach Benni McCarthy knew as soon as he saw Kateregga play that he had to be recruited, and the club owner has tipped the forward to "add something unique going forward."

However, Muleme insists that Kateregga has to work hard in South Africa to realise his potential, repay the coach's faith and, potentially, encourage more PSL club to turn to Uganda for recruitment.

"He has to work hard for himself, for Cape Town City and for the manager who worked hard to get him to make a move for him," Muleme concluded, "in order to show that there is room for players who are Ugandan and to open doors for them."

Kateregga must now go through the formalities of obtaining a work permit ahead of City's next PSL game away at Bloemfontein Celtic on Sunday.
