AS Vita Club cruise as Enyimba get thumped

AS Vita Club stormed to the top of their CAF Confederation Cup Group A with a 3-1 victory over Ivorian side ASEC Mimosas in the second round of matches in the pool on Wednesday night.

The DR Congo side cruised to the home victory after a brace from Emmanuel Ngudikana and a further strike via Ngonda Muzinga handed them the three points.

Gbagnon Badie had earlier given ASEC the lead, but the Ivorians wilted in the second period.

With Enyimba drawing, and Akwa United and MFM FC both being defeated, Plateau United's 2-1 victory over USM Alger was the only positive result for the NPFL's four representatives.

However, reports that began to emerge in the immediate aftermath of...

Aduana Stars destroy Fosa Juniors, mixed fortunes for Nigeria's quartet

Aduana Stars were the big winners in the CAF Confederation Cup playoff round during an exciting weekend of action across Africa, although there were mixed fortunes for Nigeria's four representatives.

In the most high-profile clash of the weekend, Raja Casablanca secured a valuable 2-0 victory away at Zanaco, but last year's finalists SuperSport United are in danger after a home defeat by Gor Mahia.

However, the weekend belongs to the reigning Ghana Premier League champions, who romped to a 6-1 victory...
