Sean Dyche laments Burnley finishing in Stoke stalemate; Ings set for exit

Burnley boss Sean Dyche has admitted his side have not been clinical enough to avoid relegation this season following a 0-0 draw at home to Burnley.

It should be no surprise it ended goalless as Turf Moor has seen fewer goals than any other Premier League ground this season, with just 35, highlighting exactly where Burnley's problems have been.

Indeed a home campaign -- which has seen a victory over Manchester City and draws with Manchester United and Tottenham -- has been undermined with games Dyche's men have dominated but not been able to turn into wins.

And a familiar tale unfolded as the hosts missed a hatful of early chances to go in front, with Danny Ings particularly desperate to score in what looks like being his Turf Moor swansong.

Dyche said: "That has been a frustration all season, that is the reality of going up the levels, you have to take chances.

"You have to make the big moments yours. Once again, generally it was a good performance, we defended well, we had good shape, good energy, created chances -- got to take them. That's the frustration this season for sure.

"I am really proud of the players because that was a big knock last week. To come out that and deliver a performance on the back of that, I am very proud."

On Ings' likely exit Dyche added: "I don't think I need to say too much, not with his words but with his actions, certainly over the last two seasons.

"It's good to see his development, it looks like it won't continue with us but we have played a big part in his development."
