CSKA Sofia boss makes U-turn on offering proof of snowball claim

CSKA Sofia coach Stoycho Mladenov has changed his mind and said he will not provide medical evidence to prove he was knocked unconscious by a snowball during Saturday's Eternal derby against Levski Sofia.

Levski supporters were shown pelting the CSKA players with snowballs at the Vasil Levski National Stadium and Mladenov was soon struck on the head, before collapsing on the athletics track surrounding the pitch.

The head of Levski's national fan club, Vladimir Vladimirov, accused the CSKA boss of exaggerating the incident, but Mladeno said: "I have a medical report and if proof is needed I will provide it."

Bulgarian Football Union (BFU) officials have since requested the medical document, although the BFU has postponed making a decision on the incident.

However, Mladenov has now made a U-turn on his comments and believes he does not need to offer any evidence as his word should be enough to prove he is correct.

"I'm a man of honour and the case is closed for me," he told reporters on Wednesday. "I will not provide the medical document."
