Corey Brown joins Brisbane Roar's growing injury list

Brisbane have copped another major A-League injury blow with left-back Corey Brown to miss the next three weeks with a hamstring strain.

A day after versatile defender Daniel Bowles (knee) was ruled out for the rest of 2017, Brown was excluded from the Roar's squad for Saturday's assignment away to Perth.

It's believed the 23-year-old suffered the injury at Wednesday morning's training session.

With Brisbane's Asian Champions League campaign to resume on Tuesday night at Suncorp Stadium against Thailand's Muangthong United, his absence will put further strain on coach John Aloisi's thin defensive stocks at a crucial time.

Right-back Jack Hingert (ankle) is already sidelined and expected to miss the next two weeks after going down during last week's 2-0 ACL playoff win over Shanghai Shenhua.

Highly rated teenage left-back Connor O'Toole has been promoted and appears set to make his senior debut against the Glory.

The 19-year-old Sydney product -- who came through the same prestigious Japanese football academy as fringe Socceroo defender Jason Davidson -- signed for the Roar in the offseason after a short stint with Adelaide United's youth team.

Veteran stopper Jade North has also been named to make his return from suspension, but recruit Avraam Papadopoulos will have to bide his time before making his first appearance for Brisbane.

Australian-born former Greek international defender Papadopoulos, 32, signed a contract earlier this week to become an injury replacement player for Bowles.
