Brighton & Hove Albion FC have come together in support of French winger Anthony Knockaert's father who died last Thursday aged 63.
Knockaert missed Albion's English Championship 2-0 away win at Bristol City on Saturday as he was back in France to be with his family but was on the minds of his teammates. Steve Sidwell dedicated his 14th minute goal to Knockaert and the former Chelsea midfielder was among 10 Brighton players, along with manager Chris Hughton, to make the trip over to France to attend the funeral on Tuesday.

Knockaert, 24, was overwhelmed by the show of support as he took to Twitter to express his gratitude to the club and teammates.

Goalkeeper David Stokedale and Niki Maenpaa, Bruno, Gaetan Bong, Lewis Dunk, Connor Goldson, Liam Rosenior, Dale Stephens and Jamie Murphy were the other nine players to make the trip to Leers, on the outskirts of Lille.
