Brazil Olympic squad includes PSG's Marquinhos, Lazio's Felipe Anderson

Marquinhos and Felipe Anderson have been included in Brazil's Olympics squad for the upcoming Rio games, while midfielders Walace and Renato Augusto have replaced Douglas Costa and Fred in coach Rogerio Micale's team.

Micale announced his final 18-man list for the competition on Thursday.

Bayern Munich's Costa pulled out of the running last week because of an injury, while Fred was denied permission to participate by Shakhtar Donetsk.

Taking their place are Gremio's Walace and Beijing Guoan's Renato, who were both with the senior side at this summer's Copa America Centanario.

The most surprising inclusions to the squad, however, are Paris Saint-Germain defender Marquinhos and Lazio midfielder Felipe, who both were involved in public spats with their respective clubs before obtaining their release to participate in the competition.

The team is led by a forward line consisting of Brazil's present and future top attacking talents in the form of Barcelona star Neymar, Palmeiras' Gabriel Jesus, Santos' Gabriel "Gabigol" Barbosa and Gremio's Luan.

In all, the squad features 13 players who are based in Brazil, two who play in Spain, and one each from France, Italy and China.

Brazil will begin their Olympic campaign on Aug. 4 against South Africa in Brasilia.

Here's the complete list:

Goalkeepers: Fernando Prass (Palmeiras), Uilson (Atletico Mineiro)

Defenders: Marquinhos (Paris Saint-Germain), Rodrigo Caio (Sao Paulo), Zeca (Santos), Douglas Santos (Atletico Mineiro), Luan (Vasco da Gama), William (Internacional)

Midfielders: Rafinha Alcantara (Barcelona), Rodrigo Dourado (Internacional), Walace (Gremio), Thiago Maia (Santos), Renato Augusto (Beijing Guoan), Felipe Anderson (Lazio)
