Kaka replaces injured Philippe Coutinho in Brazil squad

Kaka has been called up to the Brazil squad to replace the injured Philippe Coutinho for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers, the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) has announced.

Coutinho, 23, completed the full 90 minutes in Liverpool's 1-1 Premier League draw against Everton on Sunday but has since been ruled out of the Selecao's games against Chile and Venezuela. The CBF did not disclose details of the midfielder's injury.

Kaka, 33, featured in Brazil's friendlies against Costa Rica and United States last month, but the Orlando City player, who has won 90 international caps, had originally been overlooked by coach Dunga for his side's opening World Cup qualifiers.

Brazil take on Chile in Santiago on Thursday, before hosting Venezuela in Fortaleza five days later.
