Oscar, Hulk, Willian and Philippe Coutinho get Brazil recall

Brazil coach Dunga included Oscar, Willian, Philippe Coutinho and Hulk on the Selecao 23-man squad for next month's 2018 World Cup qualifying matches against Chile and Venezuela but omitted veteran Kaka.

The Orlando City midfielder had been included in the September friendlies and was vying for a spot.

Team captain Neymar was not added because he is serving a four-match ban for insulting a referee and head-butting Colombia defender Jeison Murillo during Brazil's 1-0 loss to Colombia at Copa America in June.

Neymar is eligible to return to Brazil's squad for their match against Argentina as it now stands, but Gilmar Rinaldi, Brazil's selection coordinator, said the team are still waiting the results of an appeal to reduce the sanction.

Oscar, who missed the most recent friendlies and the Copa America because of injuries, was included, as was Thiago Silva, Real Madrid's Marcelo, Atletico's Filipe Luis and PSG's Lucas Moura.

Barcelona's Dani Alves and Real Madrid's Danilo are off the team with injuries.

Renato Augusto returns to the team after a four-year absence, while Alexandre Pato was not included. Barcelona midfielder Rafinha, who tore his right ACL in Barcelona's 1-1 draw with Roma and who is expected to undergo surgery, was also included.

Brazil travel to Chile for an Oct. 8 match and host Venezuela on Oct. 13 in Fortaleza.
