Borussia Dortmund to face Man City, Liverpool and Benfica in International Champions Cup

Borussia Dortmund will meet Premier League champions Manchester City, former coach Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool and Benfica in the International Champions Cup in the United States in July.

Dortmund are one of two Bundesliga clubs, along with Bayern Munich, invited to participate in the ICC and are set to play three matches within a week.

They will play Manchester City at Soldier Field in Chicago on July 20 and just two days later have been paired against Liverpool at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina.

It will be the second time Klopp faces his former club since taking over Liverpool in October 2015 as Liverpool knocked Dortmund out of the Europa League quarterfinals in April 2016.

Dortmund will then travel to Pittsburgh, where they will take on Benfica at Heinz Field. The two sides last met in the round of 16 in the Champions League in 2017.

The club will make a first visit to the U.S. in May when they travel to Los Angeles to face MLS expansion club LAFC as a ceremonial opening to Banc of California Stadium.

That game, which LAFC confirmed on Tuesday will be played on May 22, will likely mark the first time U.S. international Christian Pulisic will represent his club in his home country.
