Borussia Dortmund fined €50k by DFB after repeated fan issues

Borussia Dortmund have been fined €50,000 because of their fans' behaviour at three matches during the first months of the season.

The German FA (DFB) issued the fine on Tuesday, which has already been accepted by the club, after BVB supporters set off fireworks at three games -- a cup match at Magdeburg in August, the 4-4 draw with Schalke in November, and the 1-1 draw at Hertha Berlin in January.

During the match with Schalke on Nov. 25, 2017, Dortmund supporters also threw "filled beer cups into coaching zone twice as well several beer cups towards the Schalke keeper in the 80th minute," the DFB said on its official website.

Dortmund were previously fined on July 20, 2017 when the DFB issued a €95,000 penalty to the club after fans set off fireworks during the 2-1 win over Eintracht Frankfurt in the German Cup final last May.

And, in late November, UEFA handed BVB a €15,000 fine after supporters set off fireworks at a Champions League match in Cyprus against Apoel Nicosia.
