Jadon Sancho scores for Dortmund in UEFA Youth League win vs. Apoel

England under-17 forward Jadon Sancho was on target as Borussia Dortmund beat Apoel Nicosia 5-0 in the UEFA Youth League on Wednesday.

Sancho, who joined Dortmund from Manchester City on Aug. 31, was recalled early from England's successful U-17 World Cup campaign and subsequently made his Bundesliga debut as a late substitute in the 2-2 draw at Eintracht Frankfurt on Oct. 21.

However, the 17-year-old has mainly featured for Dortmund's second team and UEFA Youth League side, with the German club deciding against including him in their Champions League squad for the group stage.

He has featured in three of his side's four Youth League matches this term and on Wednesday scored in the 83rd minute as Dortmund cruised past Apoel with a 5-0 win.

Sancho, who scored three goals and set up a further two in the U-17 World Cup group stage, could be added to Dortmund's senior European squad for the knockout stages of the Champions League or Europa League should they progress.

Dortmund are currently level on two points with Apoel in Champions League Group H, with a five-point deficit on second-placed Real Madrid and two games remaining.

Sancho has been called up to England U19s squad for matches against Iceland, Faroe Islands and Bulgaria.
