Bayern Munich end pursuit of Dortmund head scout Sven Mislintat

Bayern Munich president Uli Hoeness has said the club have ended their pursuit of Borussia Dortmund head scout Sven Mislintat.

Mislintat, 44, discovered star players including Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Ousmane Dembele.

BVB sporting director Michael Zorc said on Thursday he was "irritated" by Bayern's approach, with the Bundesliga champions looking to replace technical director Michael Reschke, who has joined Stuttgart.

"The matter is closed because Dortmund said that they don't want to lose him," Hoeness told Sky.

He said Mislintat "had applied for a job at a Swabian club [Stuttgart] and then Michael Reschke moved there."

And he added: "Therefore, negotiations didn't take place but we told him we could imagine him working for us -- but Dortmund said it's definitely not possible."

German magazine kicker reported on Tuesday that Hoeness was incorrect in saying Mislintat had applied for a role at VfB Stuttgart. Moreover, Stuttgart's former Sporting Director Jan Schindelmeiser had last season sounded out Mislintat for a role at the then second division club. Dortmund's 44-year-old Head Scout turned down the approach according to kicker.
