Borussia Dortmund's Marco Reus set for six months out injured - report

Marco Reus is facing six months out with cruciate ligament damage picked up in Borussia Dortmund's 2-1 DFB Pokal final win against Eintracht Frankfurt, according to a report in Bild.

Reus, 27, went off at half-time with the injury and is facing an extended spell on the sidelines.

"Maybe it's a bit of anterior cruciate ligament. You'll have to ask the doc. It doesn't matter today," Reus said on ARD during the postmatch celebrations.

The Germany international had already missed much of Dortmund's season through injury

"Reus received a knock when running into the box," Thomas Tuchel added in his postmatch news conference.

The DFB Pokal win was Reus' first major trophy after losing the final three times previously, finishing as a Bundesliga runner-up on three occasions and losing a Champions League final in 2013.

ESPN FC's Stephan Uersfeld contributed to this report.
