Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang shouldn't 'think too much' - Thomas Tuchel

Borussia Dortmund boss Thomas Tuchel says he doesn't want striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to overthink his game after he scored twice in Saturday's 3-0 win over Freiburg.

Aubameyang ended a four-game stretch without a goal -- including a brutal performance against Benfica in the Champions League -- when he found the net in the second half.

And Tuchel said he was relieved that Aubameyang could shake off his recent struggles in front of goal.

"It's a real relief! What you don't want is for your centre-forward to start thinking too much," he said. "During the first period, in which we failed to convert several chances, we couldn't deny there was a slight feeling of unease.

"It's best for all of us if Auba doesn't think twice, if he's eagerly anticipating our next matches, if he's looking forward to his next chances and if he has that effortlessness back in his game."

Marco Reus, who set up Aubameyang to break his scoring drought, said he believed the Gabon international had regained some confidence.

"Auba already got one or two fine chances in the first half and he would have scored those with a bit more confidence," Reus said. "But he still got two goals in the end. So everything is well again."

The result gave Dortmund a three-point cushion in third place over Hoffenheim who play at Schalke on Sunday, and Tuchel said he thought his team was on the right path as they look to secure a Champions League spot.

"Apart from the match in Darmstadt [a 2-1 defeat on Feb. 11], we've looked very solid recently and put in good performances," Tuchel said. "I believe we're capable of continuing in this vein.

"It's brilliant to have won, deservedly, while keeping a clean sheet at the same time, to have managed to give away very little. It was a great performance. And all these little things give us a boost."
