Borussia Dortmund were 'deficient' in Frankfurt defeat - Thomas Tuchel

Borussia Dortmund coach Thomas Tuchel blasted his team's performance in Saturday's 2-1 loss at Eintracht Frankfurt, calling it "deficient."

Dortmund suffered a major setback to their Bundesliga title hopes as they fell to sixth place in the table.

"Technically, tactically, mentally, awareness -- everything. Our performance was deficient," Tuchel said at his postmatch news conference.

"It was a performance, from the first to the last minute, that merited no points, starting from this week's training.

"Our entire season has been characterised by peaks and troughs. That is very unsatisfactory."

Dortmund have now won only two of six away games and found themselves 1-0 down after less than 20 seconds of the second half at the Commerzbank Arena when Szabolcs Huszti struck.

"The manner in which we came out of the changing room -- I would have been surprised if we hadn't conceded a goal," Tuchel said.

His side's defending failed them again only 66 seconds after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang had scored the equaliser, allowing Haris Seferovic to net the winner.
