Ciro Immobile has no regrets over tough Borussia Dortmund spell

Lazio forward Ciro Immobile has said he has no regrets about his time at Borussia Dortmund, even though it did not turn out as he had hoped.

Immobile, 26, moved to Dortmund from Torino in 2014, having been Serie A's top scorer with 22 goals in 2013-14.

But he scored just three times in the Bundesliga and was then loaned to Sevilla, where he struck four times in 15 games.

This season he has scored nine times in 12 games for Lazio, but told kicker: "I don't see my season with Dortmund negatively.

"There were some real problems there in the dressing room and they were going through a generation change.

"I could have given more and I'm sorry about how it all ended, but I still look back on my time in Germany positively."

He said he had found language a problem, describing German as "damn hard to learn" and adding that although Jurgen Klopp had allowed him to have an interpreter, Thomas Tuchel had not.

"That was complicated because I could hardly understand the coach then. If I had wanted to stay, I would have had to learn the language and that would have taken time," he said.
