United States midfielder Christian Pulisic became the youngest ever non-German to score a Bundesliga goal as he opened his account for Borussia Dortmund in their 3-0 win against Hamburger SV on Sunday. The USMNT youngster opened the scoring for Dortmund after 38 minutes as they bounced back from Thursday's shock defeat at Liverpool with a 3-0 defeat of struggling side Hamburg. Aged 17 years, 6 months and 30 days, Pulisic became the fourth-youngest ever to score in Bundesliga history, and the youngest to not hold a German passport. Although his BVB teammate Nuri Sahin, the record holder, is a Turkey international, the Germany-born midfielder holds a dual citizenship. "I am just happy. It's a great feeling to have scored my first competitive goal. It's just outstanding," Pulisic said on Sky following the win, and recalled his goal. "We played a short corner. Mats [Hummels] sets me up perfectly. And I strike inside the near post." Pulisic, who was called up the senior squad during the winter break by coach Thomas Tuchel, made his 10th competitive appearances for BVB. However, in most of the games he came off the bench, and on Sunday he won his first ever start at Dortmund's Westfalenstadion. "It's unbelievable. I am lost for words, can't really explain it," Pulisic said, adding that he does not expect to start in Wednesday's cup semifinal at Hertha Berlin. Pulisic said: "We've got many good players, I can't make any claims. I am just happy about every minute I can be on the pitch."
