Marco Reus could start for Borussia Dortmund at Hamburg

Marco Reus could return to Borussia Dortmund's starting XI as they bid to extend their seven-match winning run at Hamburg on Friday.

Reus, who tore muscle fibres in BVB's 4-0 victory over Qabala on Nov. 5, returned to team training on Monday and coach Thomas Tuchel said the forward is "definitely an option."

"He trained really well, looked at ease," Tuchel told his prematch news conference.

Reus, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Shinji Kagawa have scored 54 of Dortmund's 71 goals in all competitions between them this season and all four could be in the side at the Volksparkstadion.

Tuchel confirmed that Japan midfielder Kagawa is set to start against 11th-placed Hamburg, despite having travelled to Asia for World Cup qualification during the international break.

"I plan to start Kagawa," Tuchel said.

Dortmund have not picked up three points at Hamburg since the 2012-2013 season, but they have enjoyed a highly impressive start under Tuchel, losing just one game in all competitions, and the former Mainz boss is confident.

"I expect us to continue where we left off before the international break," Tuchel said. "Vigilance, hunger -- that's what I expect."

The match will be the first in the Bundesliga since the terrorist attacks in Paris and the cancellation of Germany's friendly against Netherlands, and Tuchel admitted that it had put football into perspective.

"It feels weird to talk about positions on the field with video analysis," he said.

However, he believes that a return to Bundesliga football will ultimately allow people to overcome their fears.

"I do think that it's important the match will go ahead," Tuchel said. "Only by playing repeated matches without any security issues will the people will be able to block out what happened and see football as what it is -- entertainment."
