Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc has said it is "unacceptable" that the players have conceded a goal in the opening minute of three Bundesliga games this season, saying: "We have not handed out sleeping pills."
It took Oscar Wendt just 28 seconds to open the scoring for Borussia Monchengladbach on Saturday as they cruised to a 3-1 victory over Dortmund, who remain 10th in the Bundesliga.
Dortmund had also conceded after only nine seconds in their 2-0 defeat at home to Bayer Leverkusen in August, while Mainz went ahead after 52 seconds of BVB's eventual 4-2 win at the Westfalenstadion in February.
Dortmund also fell behind less than three minutes into their 3-0 defeat at home to Juventus in the Champions League last month, and Zorc vented his anger at the team.
"I think that's an absolute world record -- and it's totally unacceptable," he told reporters. "It speaks volumes -- it's drowsiness. The team's on the pitch but not there. How can you explain that? It has never happened before [this season]. We have not handed out sleeping pills."
On the overall performance, he added: "We have possession, possession, possession, but Gladbach managed to create dangerous situations. We did not convert our chances."
Zorc has largely remained quiet throughout a highly disappointing season for Dortmund, who found themselves in the relegation zone at the winter break and are still struggling to recapture the form that saw them challenging for major honours in each of the previous four seasons.
Despite Saturday's defeat, Dortmund are still only four points away from the Europa League qualification places, but they are also just six points clear of Paderborn in the relegation playoff spot.
Zorc said: "I am not willing to say, 'That's it. We're giving up on the season.' The next home game against Paderborn will be crucial."
Dortmund are set to make changes to their squad this summer, with Mats Hummels among those linked with an exit, but the club have so far insisted that there will not be a total overhaul, with coach Jurgen Klopp having received public backing.
However, Klopp -- who is under contract until 2018 -- is now coming under heavier scrutiny in the media, with local newspaper Der Westen saying the club must call everything and everyone into question, including the coach, following their fall from grace.
German football magazine kicker, meanwhile, said in an editorial that Klopp "sometimes stands in his technical area as if he were on a raft to nowhere" and added: "Borussia Dortmund don't belong there."
The country's biggest tabloid, Bild, reported on rumours that Klopp is considering a sabbatical and played up his argument with Sebastian Kehl during Saturday's defeat as a sign that "the cracks were visible."
Zorc, though, played down the row, telling Bild: "That issue was dealt with directly at our team meeting on Sunday morning. We've sorted it out."
