Borussia Dortmund's Marco Reus ruled out until 2015 with ankle injury

Borussia Dortmund have announced Marco Reus will be sidelined until January 2015 with the right ankle injury he sustained on Saturday.

Reus was stretchered off in the second half of Dortmund's 2-2 draw with Paderborn after being hurt by a challenge from Marvin Bakalorz.

On Sunday, referee Wolfgang Stark admitted he made a mistake not showing Paderborn's Bakalorz a red card for his foul on Reus.

The Germany international suffered ankle ligament damage and is not expected to return to training until the New Year, according to the club.

The 25-year-old had put Dortmund 2-0 up at Paderborn only for their opponents to strike twice in the second half and salvage a point, leaving Jurgen Klopp's men 15th in the table.

Reus missed Germany's triumphant World Cup campaign in the summer with a problem to his left ankle.
