Neil Lennon interested in Bolton's manager vacancy, sources say

Former Celtic manager Neil Lennon is interested in the vacant managerial post at Bolton Wanderers, sources have told ESPN.

Lennon has been out of work since stepping down as Celtic manager during the summer and he was heavily linked with the Crystal Palace job before that was taken by the more experienced Neil Warnock.

While Lennon is eager to land a job in the Premier League, the coach who won three Scottish Premiership titles during his time as Celtic boss and also enjoyed some success in the Champions League accepts he may need to dip below the top division of English football to get back into the game.

Former Newcastle and Norwich manager Chris Hughton is also in the mix for the Bolton job vacated by Dougie Freedman, with Phil Brown also being linked with a return to the club he played for and worked at as a coach during Sam Allardyce's reign as manager.

Bolton are reported to be keen to have a new manager in place by the time they return to action following the international break, with the need for an instant lift evident as the club are currently bottom of the Championship division.
