Martin O'Neill and Roy Keane sign new Republic of Ireland contracts

Martin O'Neill became Republic of Ireland manager in 2013.

Republic of Ireland manager Martin O'Neill and assistant Roy Keane have signed new contracts until the end of the 2018 World Cup.

O'Neill, who led Ireland to the round of 16 at Euro 2016, confirmed the deal at a news conference to announce his squad for the World Cup qualifying games against Georgia and Moldova in October.

Ireland are drawn alongside Wales, Austria, Serbia, Georgia and Moldova in Group D and began their campaign with a 2-2 draw in Serbia.

Sam Allardyce won his first England game earlier this month against Slovakia.

England manager Sam Allardyce believes the team will struggle to live up to supporters' expectations when they face Malta next month.

The Three Lions, who saw off Slovakia 1-0 earlier this month, next face Malta at home on Oct. 8 as they continue their 2018 World Cup qualifying campaign.

Scotland, who are also in Group F, defeated Malta 5-1 in their opening qualifier, but Allardyce has warned fans not to necessarily be expecting a walkover when England play them
