Man United prioritise Real Madrid's Kroos as key summer transfer target
Clubs are slowly turning their eyes toward the summer window, and Transfer Talk has the updates on all the latest rumours.
United make Kroos key summer target
We've already heard that Manchester United will boost their defence in the summer and now it seems the midfield will get a makeover as well, with Toni Kroos the priority target.
The Independent reports that Jose Mourinho has made it clear he needs to add a midfielder, with Kroos the man in his sights.
It adds that United "have a long-standing interest in the Germany international and almost signed him in 2014 before he went to Real Madrid."
Although Kroos is seen as a major player at the Bernabeu, he could still move on at the end of the season.
The Independent says "word has got around the top European clubs that the Champions League holders will make some high-profile sales as they seek to overhaul their squad and buy a huge star."
United are ready to find out "how resistant they would be to selling Kroos," but should that not work out, Borussia Dortmund's Julian Weigl -- also linked with Manchester City -- is in their sights.
Spurs hope it's third time lucky with Zaha
Tottenham Hotspur have not given up on signing Crystal Palace forward Wilfried Zaha and think it will be a case of third time lucky in the summer, according to the Mirror.
It reports that Spurs, strongly linked with Zaha in the two previous windows, "are confident of winning the battle" to sign him despite competition from Chelsea and Manchester City.
They want to bring in the Ivory Coast international despite already having recruited Lucas Moura from Paris Saint-Germain, with the Mirror reporting that they are unfazed by a likely £50 million price tag.
Zaha is under contract at Selhurst Park until 2022, and Palace are determined to keep him if they secure Premier League survival under Roy Hodgson.
Alisson boost for Liverpool?
Reports linking Liverpool with Roma goalkeeper Alisson persist, and now the Mirror says they "have been handed a boost" in their pursuit.
It reports that Roma could try to sign Malmo keeper Marko Johansson, and that would give Liverpool a good chance of bringing in Alisson.
The Merseysiders continue to monitor the 25-year-old, with manager Jurgen Klopp reportedly still unconvinced by either Simon Mignolet or Loris Karius.
Brazil international Alisson has also been linked with Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid, while Juventus could yet join the race for him.
-- Leicester striker Leonardo Ulloa might make a permanent return to Brighton after rejoining them on loan.
The Leicester Mercury reports that Ulloa, who had fallen to the fringes of the first-team picture at the King Power Stadium, would be allowed to move full-time, with a decision expected at the end of the season.
-- Uncertainty surrounds the long-term West Ham future of manager David Moyes, but the London Evening Standard reports that he is lining up a summer target or two.
It says West Ham have run the rule over Hibernian and Scotland midfielder John McGinn, with Moyes poised to bring him to London if he opts to stay.
-- Tottenham youngster Reo Griffiths has emerged as a target for big-spending RB Leipzig, sources have told ESPN FC.
