N'Golo Kante emerges as Paris Saint-Germain's latest big-money target
With the January window on the horizon, there's plenty brewing in the transfer market. All the latest deals and potential deals can be found here.
TOP STORY: PSG plots £90m Kante swoop
N'Golo Kante was the signing of the summer for two seasons running, and also the bargain of both windows as well, despite Chelsea shelling out £32m for the Premier League champion in 2016.
The Blues midfielder secured titles in back-to-back seasons, both as an integral part, and is now wanted by Paris Saint-Germain, reports the Mirror, with the Ligue 1 giants lining up a £90 million move.
The 26-year-old could return to his home town in a deal that would make him the most expensive Premier League export of all time -- surpassing Gareth Bale's £86m move to Real Madrid.
After assembling an all-star front line following moves for Kylian Mbappe and Neymar, PSG now want to give Unai Emery a general in the middle of the pitch to give them a platform to shine.
Palace to sacrifice Townsend to buy striker?
Crystal Palace are willing to pick up negotiations with Leicester for England winger Andros Townsend, claims the Mirror, as they want to fund a move for a striker to fire them to safety.
The Eagles have been deprived of Christian Benteke lately due to injury, which has left them in big trouble and still without a point.
Roy Hodgson would likely move any cash from the deal for a new No. 9, having already overseen a gap of five points open up between them and safety.
City confident of landing Sanchez in January
Manchester City are growing increasingly confident of reigniting their move for Alexis Sanchez with the Telegraph detailing how Arsenal will finally sanction his sale to avoid losing the Chilean on a free transfer next summer.
City failed late in the summer to acquire the former Barcelona superstar as the Gunners were unable to push through a deal for a replacement following a rejected bid for Monaco's Thomas Lemar.
The £60m offer from last summer will not stand though and Arsenal will be forced into accepting substantially less to recoup something for the 28-year-old.
Pep Guardiola would add another attacking weapon to his array of options and also be able to plug his former player into his lineup for the Champions League.
- Brighton want to make a move for Sheffield Wednesday striker Gary Hooper and the Sun believes West Brom and Crystal Palace will join them in the hunt.
The 29-year-old has started the season in fine form, with eight goals in all competitions and the Premier League trio will look to acquire him to bolster their survival bids.
- Juventus and Inter Milan are looking into a move for Olivier Giroud with Calciomercato claiming the France striker may be satisfied to move to that calibre of club next summer.
Giroud rejected Everton, West Ham and Marseille in the summer in order to stay and fight for his place at the Emirates, despite Alexandre Lacazette's arrival, but should his situation persist, a move appears inevitable.
- David Silva is close to signing a two-year extension at the Etihad, reports the Mail.
The Spaniard, who has remained an integral part of Manchester City's side under Pep Guardiola, could earn £150,000 per week to take his stay in the Premier League up to 10 years.
