Transfer Rater: Arturo Vidal to Liverpool, Thomas Vermaelen to Everton

Rumours
The latest transfer rumours from around the world.

Things change in the blink of an eye in football. The Football Whispers Index takes the latest transfer rumours and gives them a score out of five; the higher the score, the more realistic and reliable the whisper.

Here are today's top five emerging whispers for the summer. And keep an eye on Transfer Talk for all the latest gossip.

Sean Raggett to Sunderland

Sunderland are reportedly considering bolstering their defence with a move for Lincoln City's Raggett. The 23-year-old starred for the Imps in their run to last season's FA Cup quarterfinals, scoring the late winner that knocked out Burnley. The tall centre-back has been offered a new deal by his current club, although there is also reported interest in his services from West Bromwich Albion, West Ham United and Norwich City.

Arturo Vidal to Liverpool

Having been frustrated in their pursuit of RB Leipzig star Naby Keita, Liverpool could look elsewhere in German football for midfield reinforcements. According to reports, they are now considering a move for Vidal. The 30-year-old Bayern Munich and Chile star is seen as someone who could fill the void in Jurgen Klopp's midfield three that may potentially be left by Philippe Coutinho, who is a Barcelona transfer target following Neymar's sale to PSG.

Thomas Vermaelen to Everton

Everton could make a move for out-of-favour Barcelona centre-back Vermaelen. The Belgian has suffered with repeated injury problems in recent years, which explains why he has made just 33 appearances in three seasons since leaving Arsenal. He joined Roma on loan in 2016-17 in the hope of reviving his career, but he once again spent much of his time on the sidelines. According to Spanish sports daily Mundo Deportivo, he could now join Everton on a season-long loan deal.

Sam Gallagher to Derby County

Having netted one goal and picked up one point from their opening two fixtures of the Championship campaign, Derby are reportedly aiming to add to their attacking threat by bringing in Gallagher on a season-long loan deal. The 21-year-old centre-forward enjoyed a productive spell in the English second tier with Blackburn Rovers last term, scoring 11 goals in 42 league outings. He signed a new contract with Southampton in July but could leave on a temporary basis to get more game time.

Jonathan Bamba to Crystal Palace

According to French outlet L'Equipe, Crystal Palace sent scouts to watch Bamba in action for Saint-Etienne against Nice. Having scored the winning goal in that match, however, the winger is attracting interest from many clubs. Other interested parties include Newcastle United, Inter and AC Milan. The 21-year-old wide man spent last season on loan at Angers but, since returning to his parent club, he has one goal and one assist to his name in two league matches.
