Tottenham told to up their £24 million bid for Lyon's Alexandre Lacazette
The summer transfer window will be opening before you know it, and rumours around the world are picking up steam. As always, Transfer Talk has its finger on the pulse when it comes to the latest gossip. See the latest deals here.
TOP STORY: Spurs move for Lyon's Lacazette
Tottenham have opened talks with Lyon for Alexandre Lacazette but are already encountering difficulties in negotiations for the 25-year-old. Les Gones' chairman Jean-Michel Aulas is a notoriously tough negotiator and is said to be pushing for a fee close to £30 million, while his Spurs counterpart, Daniel Levy, is only willing to go to £24 million.
The Mirror believes Spurs have leapt to the front of the queue after positive discussions with the player's representatives, though West Ham and Paris Saint-Germain remain in the hunt. Lacazette fired Lyon to second in Ligue 1 this season with 23 goals, though that was not enough to be included in Didier Deschamps' France squad for Euro 2016.
Spurs are desperate to provide Harry Kane with legitimate support, but now face a race against time to sign Lacazette if Aulas is to be believed.
"If there must be departures, they will be before June 30. There will be none after, except for minor players," he said.
Neymar's father shops Lima to Barcelona
Santos appear ready to part with Brazilian sensation Lucas Lima this summer with Neymar's father speaking to a host of European giants about the attacking midfielder. The Peixe are ready to accept an offer in the region of £10 million, but any deal will be far from simple, according to ESPN Brasil.
The 25-year-old has inherited Pele's famous No. 10 shirt with the Brazilian national team ahead of the Copa America Centenario due to Neymar Jr. sitting the tournament out in favour of captaining the Selecao at the Olympics.
The Barcelona star's father, in close conjunction with Doyen Sports Management, has spoke to PSG, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid about a potential deal.
Any potential buyer will encounter financial obstacles in the form of image rights though, with the player's club only owning 10 percent, which means any deal could soar to £46 million.
Shevchenko urges Yarmolenko to snub Premier League
Liverpool, Everton and Spurs could be left disappointed this summer if Dynamo Kiev star Andriy Yarmolenko follows legendary Ukraine striker Andriy Shevchenko's advice.
Shevchenko has urged the 26-year-old to follow in his footsteps and join AC Milan, rather than head to the Premier League.
"He plays wide on the right but he can also play on the left and he will become a good player," Shevchenko told the Milan Channel. "I would point Milan in his direction."
An unorthodox wide player due to his height and physicality, Yarmolenko has bagged 24 goals in 58 caps and will be one to watch closely for Mykhaylo Fomenko's Ukraine at Euro 2016.
Will Pogba return to Old Trafford
Will Juventus starlet Paul Pogba return to Manchester United, the club he left on a free transfer in 2012?
ESPN FC's Gab Marcotti provides his insight on the latest speculation:
Semedo, Chambers top Koeman's summer wish list
Southampton are readying a £12 million bid for Sporting Lisbon star Ruben Semedo, with the centre-back a priority for manager Ronald Koeman this summer.
That figure falls well short of the 22-year-old's release clause of £35 million, though the Star reports that Saints are prepared to test the waters.
Arsenal's Calum Chambers is also a target as the Dutchman looks to build on a superb season on the South Coast, though Semedo's representative suggests the player is in no rush to leave the Estadio Jose Alvalade.
Catio Balde said: "Like any other youngster, Ruben has ambitions and has this dream, but first of all is to continue growing with Sporting's shirt."
- Juventus director Beppe Marotta has confirmed talks are progressing with Barcelona for right-back Dani Alves, with the Bianconeri hopeful a deal can be struck by the end of the week due to the Brazilian's international commitments at the Copa America.
Marotta told Sky Sports Italia: "I can confirm that negotiations with Daniel Alves are in very good way and we are pleased with this."
- Liverpool appear to have tied up a deal for Belgian prospect Samuel Bastien with the Express reporting that the Reds have agreed a fee for the 19-year-old for between £3.4 million and £4.6 million.
Bastien spent last season on loan with Serie B outfit Avellino, which led to a call-up to the Belgium under-21 side and now Jurgen Klopp's side appear close to bringing the Anderlecht teenager to Anfield.
