Inter keen on Hernandez-Guarin swap

ESPN FC's Diego Arrioja discusses the potential transfer of Inter's Fredy Guarin for Manchester United's Javier Hernandez ahead of the clubs' ICC matchup on Tuesday.

The rumour mill never sleeps. Our latest instalment of Transfer Talk brings you all the gossip, speculation and news from the football transfer market world...

TOP PICKS:

- Inter Milan are considering offering Manchester United Fredy Guarin in exchange for Javier Hernandez according to reports in Italy.
- BeIn Sports Arabic claim Angel di Maria is close to a move to Manchester United but almost all other reports across Europe claim he is a week away from being unveiled by PSG.

22.59 BST: That's all for tonight. Join us again tomorrow for a whole lot more.

22.57 BST: Jan Vertonghen has given Tottenham a boost by insisting that he wants to stay at Tottenham Hotspur and has been offered a new five-year deal.

"It goes without saying that I would like to stay at Tottenham Hotspur," he told Belgian station Radio 1. "I still had a contract for four years. They offered me new contract of five years, I see as great sign of confidence." Read more

22.39 BST: Not often a club gets involved in banter. City have a bit of a different media policy though. BALOTELLI TO CITY!

22.05 BST: Liverpool sign Dejan Lovren for 20 million pounds. He says: "I know it is something special to play at Anfield."

21.36 BST: Trabzonspor are the on verge of agreeing a loan deal for Watford defender Essaid Belkalem according to the Watford Observer.

20.59 BST: San Lorenzo's impressive run in this year's Copa Libertadores has attracted a lot of attention. None more so than 20-year-old striker, Hector Villalba, who is the subject of Feyenoord's interest if a three million euros move can be agreed.

20.16 BST: Cardiff City want 12 million pounds for Galatasaray target Gary Medel according to club chairman Mehmet Dalman. "We are not going to take a loss on a player who was a World Cup star in Brazil," Dalman said speaking to WalesOnline. "We have made it clear what our price is and that won't change. We will do the right thing for Cardiff City and the player; our position has not changed. There are clubs interested in him, but we have not reached an agreement with anybody so far."

19.33 BST: He can remember where he is now, but he may have to remember a new address. German World Cup winner Christoph Kramer is being linked with a move to Napoli for around 13 million euros by both Tuttosport and Sportmediaset. The deal could be completed on Monday.

18.59 BST: Bundesliga side Wolfsburg have confirmed they are keeping close tabs on Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku. Club chief Klaus Allofs told Bild that the club have yet to make a reported 28 million euros bid for the player, but they might: "This (the transfer bid) is most definitely not true. But he is a good player. And it is no secret we are looking for a centre forward."

18.32 BST: Leicester City want to resign Sol Bamba according to Clubcall. The Ivory Coast centre-back did well at the World Cup and now Trabzonspor could be ready to sell.

17.55 BST: Rodriguez to Sunderland!!! No, it's not James having had enough of Real Madrid already, it's Cristian Rodriguez wanting out of Atletico Madrid. "He's desperate to be at a club where he can play week after week," Sunderland boss Gus Poyet was quoted as saying. "There are a lot of positive things and there is something to be achieved, to agree a deal when a player like him is available."

17.30 BST: BIG BUST UP! Reports in Italy and Spain are suggesting Rafa Benitez has banished Jose Callejon from training because of his poor attitude! He had been linked with a move to Atletico Madrid but the player himself said he was happy in Napoli and didn't want to go anywhere. Well, with these rumours spreading, it looks like there'll be a few more stories about involving the future of the Spanish forward.

17.25 BST: We've heard a number of rumours today about the Shakhtar players who don't want to return to the Ukraine being linked with moves away. Well here is a story on what Shakhtar think about the whole thing.

17.22 BST: More on Romelu Lukaku's protracted transfer saga.

17.18 BST: Sunderland target Moussa Sow has hardly committed himself to current club Fenerbahce by saying if a club that interests him comes along, he would consider leaving Turkey. He said to reporters: "I am happy here at Fenerbahce. However, if I were to get offers from major European clubs I could consider a move." The Senegalese is valued at £17 million with Tottenham also said to be keeping tabs on him.

17.10 BST: There will be plenty of West Ham fans scratching their heads at this next one but reports in Italy say Juventus are thinking of bringing in Marco Borriello on a short term contract to cover for the injured Alvaro Morata. Many West Ham fans probably won't even know who Borriello is such was the ill-fate/form that befell him when he came to England.

16.57 BST: Porto are going absolutely mad in the transfer market and are showing no signs of stopping either. Having already signed Adrian Lopez, Bruno Martins Indi, Casemiro and Cristian Tello among others, the Portuguese club are now after Rubin Kazan's Ivan Marcano and Osasuna's Andres Fernandez, according to O Jogo. Roma defender Jose Angel is also said to be close to a move to Porto and tuttomercatoweb say it could be announced as early as tomorrow.

16.45 BST: Is Ronald Koeman going to have any players left?

16.32 BST: The rumours about Antonio Candreva possibly leaving Lazio have been doing the rounds over the last few weeks. Some reports in Italy claim Lazio have actually turned down a bid from Juventus while the player's agent has tried to douse the flames of this rumour in an interview. Federico Pastorello told Sky Sport Italia: "Two or three offers have arrived, but so far Lazio have resisted. Of course he is ambitious and wants to play the Champions League, that is normal, but he has never asked to leave Lazio."

16.21 BST: A blow to the big clubs around Europe as Tuttosport and Corriere Dello Sport have both reported that Juventus' Paul Pogba has signed a new long-term deal with the Italian champions. Not confirmed yet though.

16.10 BST: Pep Guardiola could be about to save Victor Valdes the ignominy of being without a club by signing the injured goalkeeper as back up to Manuel Neuer at Bayern Munich according to Marca.

Result for Valdes who might finally have a club after failing his Monaco medical.

16.00 BST: DONE DEAL! This one has been rumbling on for a while with plenty of clubs interested, but Davide Astori is now a Roma player after arriving in Denver to meet up with the squad. Good signing.

15.55 BST: You know Hugo Lloris signed a new five-year deal with Spurs about a fortnight ago? Well the Daily Star seem to think in spite of this, and couple with the signing of Michel Vorm, PSG have been given encouragement to come and try and buy Lloris. This just seems... implausible.

15.46 BST: Slightly more uplifting news for Liverpool fans.

15.40 BST: Inter Milan again but this time it is another striker. According to reports, Inter have offered Sevilla £2 million for the loan signing of Carlos Bacca with a £12 million guarantee to buy the player outright after the loan spell. It has been rejected and Sevilla say they won't negotiate below £30 million.

15.30 BST: Inter Milan are interested in taking Dani Osvaldo off Southampton's hands. The Italian striker has admitted he has failed to adapt to England and the Premier League and is seeking a move away. According to Sky Sport Italia, Erick Thohir is going to meet representatives from Southampton this week to try and thrash out a deal.

15.17 BST: According to RTV Rijnmond, Lazio are still the only club interested in Stefan De Vrij and Manchester United are not going to try and sign him this summer. According to reports in Italy on Saturday, Lazio were close to meeting the asking price of €9 million for De Vrij, with the Serie A club upping their offer to €8 million. Another club said to be interested in the Dutch centre back is Southampton, who are managed by former Feyenoord coach Ronald Koeman, but they are also yet to make any contact with the Rotterdam side.

15.10 BST: So he was a man in demand then. Hats off Liverpool for snaring him.

15.00 BST: Read the full story here.

WOW. Did not see that one coming! Liverpool have pulled out of signing Loic Remy after concerns about his medical according to Sky sources.

Loic Remy won't be flying anywhere near Liverpool after the Merseysiders pulled out of a deal after concerns over his medical.

14.52 BST: Southampton have lost players in almost every position except in goal. And yet, the Mirror say the Saints are looking to make a £9 million bid to Celtic for their giant of a goalie Fraser Forster. The report also says The Saints have already had a £6 million offer turned down by the Scottish champions.

14.44 BST: All going on just across the channel in little old The Netherlands!

14.35 BST: Hellas Verona boss Andrea Mandorlini has told Juventus-bound Romulo that it is a once in a lifetime opportunity  and that he should have gone to the World Cup. He also confirmed the club were looking to sign legendary Mexican defender Rafael Marquez.

14.20 BST: Brazilian midfielder Fernando could be on his way to Fiorentina. And no, not the one that just signed for Manchester City, the one who is refusing to go back to the Ukraine with Shakhtar Donetsk because of the political situation. 13.22 BST: Seville have kept the door open for Manchester City star Jesus Navas to return to the club according to Estadio Deportivo.

13.15 BST: And some real Barcelona news this time from Sport. Apparently Barca have mad Daniel Agger a target again for £15 million because he fits the profile of a Barca defender and the Catalan club will use their good relationship with Liverpool following the Luis Suarez negotiation to good use.

13.00 BST: Manchester United's pursuit of Mats Hummels has seemed futile from the outset given Borussia Dortmund's reluctance to sell but it would appear Barcelona have stepped in to try and sign him anyway. Sport are reporting a Hummels #5 Barcelona shirt has appeared in a club shop which would lead most to believe the German is heading to the Nou Camp. But, alas, some quick research and that picture has been photoshopped...

12.50 BST: The Herts and Essex Observer have claimed Mauricio Pocchetino has sanctioned the Spurs heirarchy to try and sign Micah Richards from Manchester City.

12.39 BST: West Ham's ambitious summer of spending looks set to continue as the local Guardian website claims the Hammers are in for former Chelsea striker Samuel Eto'o. It is thought the Cameroon striker has turned down more lucrative offers elsewhere so he can remain in London.

Samuel Eto'o made a new friend in Brazil during the World Cup.
Samuel Eto'o would rather stay in London with West Ham than earn bucket-loads of cash elsewhere.

12.28 BST: Carlo Ancelotti has had his say on the Angel di Maria situation speaking to Real Madrid's club website. Apparently... he has no news.

12.16 BST: Arsenal and Liverpool are going to battle it out for the signature of Hoffenheim attacking midfielder Roberto Firmino who scored 16 and assisted a further 14 goals last season according to the Daily Star. The Gunners are worried Santi Cazorla may be headed to Atletico Madrid and so are in the market for a replacement.

12.07 BST: Another Shakhtar player not keen on a return to the Ukraine due to the political problems there is Argentine Facundo Ferreyra who has been linked with a loan move to Newcastle in recent days.

11.59 BST: Spurs have been beaten to the signing of Antoine Griezmann by Atletico Madrid according to the Daily Mail. Apparently the Spanish champions have met Real Sociedad's £24 million buy-out clause and the player is extremely keen to join Diego Simeone's men, say AS.

11.50 BST: Andy Carroll hasn't had the best time of it since his move from Liverpool to West Ham. He was injured most of last season and couldn't make his mark in the Premier League before being told he wasn't going to the World Cup with England. Now he is out again for four months amid interest from hometown club Newcastle United. But boss Sam Allardyce has ruled out any move for Carroll while he is in charge according to the Chronicle.

11.40 BST: Spurs boss Mauricio Pocchetino was coy when asked about a possible deal for Southampton star Morgan Schneiderlin. Carl Jenkinson could be on his way out of Arsenal to gain more first-team experience.

10.15 BST: A flurry of Liverpool related transfer news from the Mirror... First, Pep Reina is a target for Pep Guardiola at Bayern Munich who wants to bring  the Spaniard to Germany as back-up to Manuel Neuer. The Reds have almost completed the signings of Dejan Lovren for £20 million from Southampton and Divock Origi from Lille for £12.5 million. The Belgian is going to be loaned back to the French club. And finally, Liverpool aren't finished picking Saints players up and are apparently going to make an offer for Jay Rodriguez.

09.55 BST: Stoke City's £7 million move for Liverpool's Oussama Assaidi looks like it could falter because the Moroccan's wage demands are too high. The Sunday Express claims Mark Hughes is willing to pull the plug on a deal if it cannot be concluded swiftly and could turn his attentions to Norwich City's Nathan Redmond instead.

09.47 BST: Arsenal look set to revive their interest in Real Madrid's Sami Khedira because he has lowered his wage demands, according to La Sexta. The report claims the German is willing to lower his demands to 'just' £9 million per year which would mean he falls into Arsenal's wage structure.

09.40 BST: Manchester City are hoping to fend off interest in a quartet of players by offering them all new deals according to the Daily Mail. England duo Joe Hart and James Milner, both of whom have been linked with moves away, along with strike pair Edin Dzeko and Sergio Aguero are all set for bumper new long-term contracts.

09.30 BST: Roberto Martinez and Everton are still hopeful they can secure a deal for Romelu Lukaku. 09.08 BST: And the Angel Di Maria story rumbles on and on.

06.23 BST: Millwall are sounding out the possibility of bringing fan favourite Tim Cahill back to the club on loan. The 34-year-old is in high demand after an excellent World Cup with the Socceroos.

Inter eye player swap

Inter Milan are planning an audacious swoop for Manchester United's Mexican striker Javier 'Chicharito' Hernandez, and are willing to offer Fredy Guarin in exchange.

In a swap that could work well for both parties, Walter Mazzarri will be able to add some much needed firepower to the Nerazzurri attack, whilst Louis van Gaal can address United's failings in the midfield.

The Daily Star has quoted new Inter defender and ex-Red Devils man Nemanja Vidic as saying "Obviously, Chicharito will be a good signing for every club and we'd be glad to have him."

Vidal deal resurrected

Manchester United have had long-standing interest in Chilean dynamo Arturo Vidal, but talks over a possible transfer from Juventus have stalled in recent weeks.

Louis van Gaal's men, however, have now reignited their chase -- according to The Mirror -- with a 35 million-pound bid and a deal that is expected to be finalised within days.

Both Nani and Wilfried Zaha have failed to impress their new manager during the Red Devils' preseason tour of the United States, and the Dutchman has now decided an injection of world-class quality is needed in his revamped midfield.

Everton make Lukaku move

After a relatively quiet window, Everton finally seem to have awoken from their summer slumber, with Sky Sports reporting the Toffees have begun negotiations with Chelsea for the services of Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku.

Jose Mourinho's signing of 36-year-old free agent Didier Drogba seems have to put the nail in the coffin in Lukaku's first-team ambitions at Stamford Bridge, which opens the door for Roberto Martinez's side.

One potential stumbling block for Everton is Lukaku's desire to play Champions League football -- something rival bidder Wolfsburg will be able to offer.

Moses pursued by Baggies

Another player in Jose Mourinho's squad could be heading out the door, with Victor Moses being targeted by West Bromwich Albion.

The Sun is reporting the Nigerian star -- who spent the past season on loan at Liverpool -- could be persuaded by his two fellow countrymen, Victor Anichebe and new signing Brown Ideye, to join them on loan at The Hawthorns.

Moses has never really locked down a starting spot at Stamford Bridge since his 9 million-pound move from Wigan, and a chance to re-establish himself with WBA might just be too good to refuse for the 23-year-old.

Tap-ins

- Kevin Strootman's long anticipated move to Manchester United could still happen -- according to Sky Sports.

- Metro says it is inevitable that Iranian star Ashkan Dejagah will leave relegated Fulham, with Qatari side Al-Arabi circling.

- Socceroos right-back Ivan Franjic is reportedly close to signing with Russian club Torpedo Moscow.
