Messi leads long list of celebrities congratulating Beckham on new MLS franchise

Argentina and Barcelona forward Lionel Messi wished David Beckham all the best for the former England star's Miami Major League Soccer team.
Celebrities such as Lionel Messi, Will Smith, Jay-Z, Tom Brady and more pass along their congratulations to David Beckham on his new MLS franchise.

Celebrities and footballers alike have got together to congratulate David Beckham on being awarded an Major League Soccer expansion team on Monday.

Beckham's Miami-based ownership group will likely enter a franchise in Major League Soccer in 2020, and Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi has led the charge in welcoming America's newest football club.

Sports stars Alex Morgan, Tom Brady, Usain Bolt and Serena Williams were joined by Marc Anthony, Jay-Z, Jennifer Lopez and Will Smith and Beckham's own family in wishing the Miami franchise well. Messi's former Barca teammate Neymar also got in on the fun.

What's even more interesting is that both Bolt and Messi indicated they were interested in playing for Beckham's team.

The world's fastest man teaming up with a five-time Ballon d'Or winner? Don't say it won't happen!
