Zlatan Ibrahimovic presents Malmo with Swedish league trophy

Zlatan Ibrahimovic helped his native club Malmo celebrate their 20th Swedish league title by presenting the trophy on Sunday.

Ibrahimovic, who is nearing a Manchester United comeback from a knee injury, was greeted with a massive ovation as he walked onto the pitch holding the league trophy up high with one hand.

He then broke protocol as he walked past Swedish federation head Karl-Erik Nilsson, who was supposed to hand the trophy to Malmo captain Markus Rosenberg. Instead, Ibrahimovic motioned for Rosenberg to come with him to the podium where the rest of the team was waiting, and handed him the trophy himself.

"Of course it's special to receive the trophy from him. He's an icon for the club and Swedish football," Rosenberg said.

Ibrahimovic grew up in Malmo and played for the club before joining Ajax in 2001.

His participation in Sunday's ceremony meant he missed United's 1-0 loss at Chelsea. He watched Malmo lose instead, 2-1 to BK Hacken, in a meaningless final game of the season. Malmo had already clinched their record 20th title, finishing with 64 points from 30 games.
