Cristiano Ronaldo returns to cheer on his old club Sporting Lisbon

Cristiano Ronaldo looked on as Sporting won on Saturday.

Sporting Lisbon had a high-profile fan in the stands on Saturday -- Cristiano Ronaldo!

Ronaldo, who is suspended for Real Madrid's match at Real Sociedad on Sunday, returned to his first professional club to watch their 2-0 win over Tondela.

He sat in a box with his girlfriend, Georgina Rodriguez. and was serenaded by the home crowd.

Sporting wrote that Ronaldo was "always welcome at your home" as Ronaldo took a photo with club officials.

Ronaldo, who played for Sporting until moving to Manchester United in 2003, will be able to return from his domestic suspension next week.

If the superstar, who called his punishment "ridiculous," is really upset with his situation in Spain, maybe it's not a bad idea to go where you're loved!
