Cologne fans make themselves heard in London before Arsenal clash
It's fair to say that Cologne fans are thoroughly excited about the prospect of taking on Arsenal in the Europa League.
We just had this coming down the street. Koln fans arriving for a trip to the Emirates Stadium. Long walk! pic.twitter.com/tUPHNTvx4r— Ken Loach (@KenLoachSixteen) September 14, 2017
Indeed, on the day of the game, it was reported that every bank in the German city had ran out of British currency due to the influx of fans making the trip to the Emirates Stadium.
FC Koln have arrived & theyve brought 70% of any atmosphere the emirates will have tonight. pic.twitter.com/wlm9sG1XHg— EmanDaGoon (@EmanDaGoonn) September 14, 2017
And so, numbering some 20,000 strong, the travelling supporters created quite a scene as they marched through the streets of London before the match.
The fans can be seen trudging up Noel Street, which is just off Soho Square, some three or four miles due south of Arsenal's home ground. That's one heck of a walk!
At that rate, they should just about make it to their seats by the time the second half kicks off.
