Leicester boss Claudio Ranieri likens Foxes to Forrest Gump

Leicester City's amazing assent to the top of the Premier League has attracted much praise in recent weeks and rightly so.

Bottom of the table at this point last season, the Foxes are going into Christmas at the top of the pile this time around after a frankly astonishing run of form and results.

Much of the team's success is built on their collective superhuman work ethic, which coach Claudio Ranieri has likened to that of Forrest Gump, a man who famously had to be forcibly told to stop running.

"Look, I am very confident because if Leicester last season saved themselves in the last two months that means the stamina is fantastic," Ranieri enthused, after being asked how long he thought Leicester's hot streak will last.

"Why can't we continue to run, run, run? We are like Forrest Gump. Leicester is Forrest Gump. I give you the headline there."

Can't argue with that. Here's hoping it doesn't go all 'Apollo 13' too soon either.
