Tottenham's new stadium finally hosts first event, earns rave reviews from fans, media

Tottenham's new stadium cost over £1 billion, but boy are the first images impressive.

On Sunday the public finally got to enter and see the new state-of-the-art Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and while the day came over eight months later than expected, the reviews were extremely positive and the images sublime. The stadium which was originally scheduled to open in September against Liverpool, has had its opening pushed back several times since but was opened Sunday for the first test event, a Tottenham Under-18s match with Southampton.

While the wait has dragged on too long...

Zlatan Ibrahimovic picks 'Zion' to win in his NCAA tournament bracket

Zlatan Ibrahimovic joins Pardon the Interruption to outline which MLS records he hopes to break and the responsibility of being named captain of LA Galaxy.
Darwin Quintero, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Carlos Vela are amongst an elite group in Major League Soccer who both score and assist just as much.

This is Zlatan Ibrahimovic's second year in the United States, and he continues to adjust to the culture. The latest example? He's filled out an NCAA tournament bracket. Kinda.

Like many experts, the LA Galaxy forward seems to think Duke will win it all -- or rather, that "Zion" will, proof that Blue Devils star Zion Williamson has another high-profile admirer. (But don't discount the possibility that Zlatan, noted fan of Zlatan that he is, went to pen his own name as the champion before correcting...

Can you guess the famous father from the son on Father Day's in Europe?

It must be annoying having a famous dad, especially one who has achieved a lot in the game you're trying to make your own way in.

These guys have it tough, but can you guess who the father is from a picture of their son?

Griezmann Mbappe baby name ruled out because of 'likely harm to child'

Stevie Nicol addresses the latest rumours surrounding Jadon Sancho, Alexis Sanchez, Kylian Mbappe and more in Transfer Rater.

A French couple who attempted to name their new-born child Griezmann Mbappe as a tribute to two of France's World Cup winners have been thwarted by a judge.

In November, La Montagne reported that the couple, from Brive-la-Gaillarde, wanted to name their child in honour of Atletico Madrid's Antoine Griezmann and Paris Saint-Germain's Kylian Mbappe.

But the Brive registrar said that was "against the child's best interests or infringing on the rights of third parties to protect their family name"...

Premier League's Champions League dominance is a good omen for Man United

Steve Nicol credits Liverpool for their return to the final eight of the Champions League, despite not playing to the high standard they set last season.
PSG correspondent Julien Laurens calls PSG's capitulation to Manchester United worse than when they lost a 4-goal lead to Barcelona 2 seasons ago.
The FC crew credit Hugo Lloris and Harry Kane for Tottenham's return to the Champions League quarterfinals for the first time since 2011.

With Liverpool's win over Bayern Munich on Wednesday, the Champions League was left powerless to resist as a brand-new era of total Premier League dominance was ushered in.

For the first time in a decade, there will be four clubs from the same country in the draw for the last eight of UEFA's flagship continental tournament. On all three occasions this feat has been achieved, it has been by Premier League clubs.

Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur won their round-of-16...

David Beckham pranked by James Corden at LA Galaxy 'statue' reveal

The much-anticipated statue of David Beckham outside the LA Galaxy's Dignity Health Sports Park was unveiled ahead of his former side's season opener against Chicago Fire.

David Beckham found himself on the end of a masterful prank recently when the ex-LA Galaxy star returned to his old stomping ground for the unveiling of a statue in his honour.

Unbeknown to Beckham, the exclusive reveal had been hijacked by his friend James Corden, host of "The Late Late Show" on American TV, whose props team built an altogether less flattering version of the actual sculpture.

Unaware that he was being pranked, Beckham did remarkably well to keep his cool as the artist took him...
