Watford coach Quique Sanchez Flores to sing with Elton John after survival

Quique Sanchez Flores is the man charged with keeping Watford in the Premier League this season.

He's only been in the job for a couple of weeks but new Watford head coach Quique Sanchez Flores has wasted no time in making a bold wager concerning his newly promoted side's survival chances next season.

Flores, 50, admitted at his official unveiling on Tuesday that he is a massive fan of Watford's most famous supporter (and honorary life president) Elton John and vowed to serenade the world with one of the pop icon's tunes if he successfully manages to keep the Hornets in the Premier League.

NYCFC perform Pirlo U-turn after his profile appears on their website

While Andrea Pirlo's imminent transfer from Juventus to New York City FC will come as a surprise to nobody, it would appear that the protracted move is still only 99.9999 percent complete.

A ripple of "DONE DEAL" rumours spread early on Wednesday morning after the MLS club posted Pirlo's player profile on their official website, complete with a photo of the Italian  in his new sky blue colours.

Hulk smashes the Zenit training centre to bits

Given that he cost them the best part of £40 million a couple of years back, Zenit are obviously still trying to find brave and exciting new ways to get their money's worth out of Hulk.

The stocky Brazilian striker, famed for his explosive (if a little wayward) shooting prowess, has been put to work starring in a fun mini-series of 'Hulk Smash' shorts for the Russian club's Youtube...

Samuel Eto'o's farewell to Sampdoria has some creative copy and pasting

Samuel Eto'o only scored two goals in his 18 games at Sampdoria.

With Samuel Eto'o's move to Turkish side Antalyaspor said to be days from completion, he has cleared out his locker and said his goodbyes to everybody at Sampdoria.

However, a few eagle-eyed fans out there spotted that the emotional open letter Eto'o has penned to thank the "warm, passionate and affectionate" Samp fans for their support bears an uncanny resemblance to the open letter the striker wrote to thank the "warm, passionate and affectionate" Everton fans for their support on his departure...

Belarusian player proposes to girlfriend after scoring

Instances of players letting their emotions get the better of them after scoring goals are hardly few and far between in the footballing pantheon, just see Temuri Ketsbaia's mauling of the St James' Park advertising boards or Marco Tardelli's famous goggle-eyes at the 1982 World Cup for details.

However, it was an altogether different emotion that overcame Belarusian player Sergey Levitskiy when he stuck one away for FC Slutsk in their recent Belarusian Premier League game against FC Neman.

Mario Gotze buys new controller for angry FIFA 15 fan who smashed one

It's a feeling we're sure many Toe Poke fans out there will be able to sympathise with, having FIFA 15 frustrate you to the point when you feel like the only rational and righteous reaction is to reduce everything you own to a pile of smouldering rubble.

If you've felt the rage, then please spare a thought for young gamer Mario Thiessen who, courtesy of a botched 90th-minute penalty while playing as Bayern Munich, swiftly set about dismantling his PlayStation controller down into its component parts...
